21101-1 - Hayabusa

The second fan-voted release, LEGO 21101 Hayabusa, captures the heroic Japanese aerospace exploration agency (JAXA) robotic spacecraft that returned asteroid samples to Earth. With 369 pieces, the model beautifully renders the spacecraft's high-gain antenna, multi-panel solar arrays, ion engines, and the sampling mechanism. It also includes an informative display plaque and a mini-figure of project manager Junichiro Kawaguchi. Its historic cross-over appeal between space exploration enthusiasts and vintage brick collectors cements its status as a premium secondary-market asset.
