Buying & Shipping Policies
Written for humans, not lawyers. Here's exactly what to expect when you order from Dick's Bricks.
Inventory & Condition
This collection has been 15 years in the making — and it's been on quite a journey. Sets have been boxed and stored across three countries, spread over multiple storage units, and most boxes have been moved at least three times to get to where they sit today. At one point the entire collection crossed the Atlantic in a shipping container.
From day one I kept a spreadsheet tracking every set: which box it's in, which storage unit that box lives in, and whether the box was in good condition at the time I logged it. That spreadsheet is the backbone of what you see listed on this site.
Honest caveat
With several thousand sets in the collection, I can't physically inspect every item before it goes live on the site. The listings are as accurate as I could make them — but moves, time, and the realities of storage mean there's a chance a box has picked up some wear, or my records don't perfectly reflect what's in front of me today.
Here's my promise: once you place an order, I'll go and physically locate the set and check it over properly. If anything looks off — a dented corner, a torn seal, anything I'd want to know about if I were buying — I'll take detailed photos and send them to you before anything ships. You'll get to decide:
- Continue with the order as-is
- Ask me to look for a better copy if I have one
- Cancel for a full refund — no questions asked
I'd rather lose a sale than have someone receive something they're not happy with. That's not the kind of store I want to run.
Shipping
Weekly shipping runs
I ship once a week. I don't have a warehouse full of pre-packed boxes — I source the right shipping box for each set, pack it carefully, and send everything in a single weekly batch. This keeps shipping costs down and means every parcel gets proper attention rather than being rushed out the door.
Once your order is verified and confirmed (see the inventory section above), it goes into that week's shipping queue. You'll always receive a tracking number as soon as the parcel is handed over to the carrier.
Photos before and after packing
Every shipment gets photographed twice: once of the set before it goes into the shipping box, and once of the sealed, addressed parcel ready to go. This creates a clear record of exactly what was sent and in what condition — useful for both of us if anything goes sideways in transit.
I'm still relatively new to shipping in the US — I've been here about a year and a half and this is genuinely my first time sending parcels domestically here. I'm learning the best carriers and box sources as I go. I'll be upfront about any hiccups, and I'll always do right by you if something doesn't arrive as expected.

Returns
I want to be upfront about this: all sales are final. I'm a hobbyist running a personal store, not a big-box retailer with a returns department. I can't accommodate change-of-mind returns — I've put real care into describing and verifying every set, and I'd ask you to be equally sure before you buy.
Legitimate return (my fault)
- Item significantly different from what was described
- Damage that wasn't disclosed before shipping
- Wrong set sent entirely
I'll cover all return shipping costs.
Not a valid return
- Change of mind
- Bought the wrong set
- Found it cheaper elsewhere
- No longer want it
These won't be accepted.
If a return is agreed
In the rare case where a return is warranted but isn't my fault — for example, if we've agreed on an exception — you'll be responsible for packing the item securely and covering return shipping. I'd ask you to use a tracked service.
Refunds are processed once the item arrives back with me and I've confirmed it's in the same condition it was sent. If a set comes back in worse shape than it left — damaged box, missing pieces, anything like that — an appropriate deduction will be made to account for the loss in value. I'll always be transparent about what that deduction is and why.
A note on who I am: I'm not Amazon. I'm one person who loves LEGO, spent 15 years building a collection, and is now trying to find good homes for the duplicates. I've tried to be as fair and transparent as possible here. If something genuinely goes wrong, talk to me — I'll always try to do the right thing.
