About Dick's Bricks
The story behind the store
I've been collecting LEGO for 15 years with a very specific goal in mind — to build every set I own and showcase entire themes together. The dream has always been to one day open a museum or display space where people can come and see everything I've built, laid out the way it was meant to be seen.
Along the way I picked up multiples of certain sets, figuring I could sell the extras at a profit to fund the habit. Smart plan in theory. Fifteen years later, the basement is full, I've run out of room to display anything, and I'm sitting on a lot of duplicate sets that need a new home.
That's what this store is — a way to clear out the duplicates, make room for new sets, and keep growing the collection toward the themes I love most. Old sets, new sets, all of it carefully looked after.
"Rather than go with the flow and list everything on Bricklink or eBay, I decided to build my own site first."
I work in tech, supporting customer websites, so I figured — why not? I pulled product information and images from the web, wired it all together, and built something custom to exactly what I needed. Using GoDaddy Airo helped me accelerate the research phase enormously — I was able to pull product images en-mass and get the content side moving much faster than I could have alone. It saved a huge amount of time, though putting together something this complex and custom was still no small task.
The result is this site. It's built with AI, it has some genuinely cool features, and it's missing a few things too — it's a work in progress. If you spot a bug, a wrong price, a missing image, or anything that feels off, please use the contact page. Your message comes straight to me. I'd genuinely love to hear from you.
